Boots of the Week

The Flamin' Groovies
June 14, 1980
Cupertino Municipal Park
Cupertino, CA
"KSJO's Second Day In The Park"

Audience recording from cassette master - very good sound quality
- microphones close to the PA. The PA sputters and cuts out a bit
at times (especially during the 2nd set) but the recording is still
very decent sound quality for an audience tape.

This event was not actually intended for broadcast - KSJO did not
really play Flamin' Groovies on the air since it was a "heavy rock"
station (Black Sabbath, Guns & Roses, maybe Joe Walsh, etc.)...

1st set:

01 KSJO DJ intro & crowd noise 0:15
02 Paint It Black 4:31
03 I'll Feel A Whole Lot Better When You're Gone 2:38
04 Between The Lines 4:20
05 Fall On You 2:38
06 Baby Please Don't Go 4:37
07 From Me To You 2:03
08 A Hard Day's Night 3:01
09 Rock and Roll Music 2:50
10 talk at end of set & crowd noise

2nd set:

11 KSJO DJ intro > Tell The Truth 5:14
12 River Deep Mountain High 4:42
13 Down Down Down 4:02
14 Dizzy Miss Lizzie 3:38
15 Shake Some Action 4:16
16 talk by Chris Wilson: intro to last song of set 0:10
17 Around & Around 3:09
18 thank you's, KSJO DJ talk & crowd noise before encore 0:56
encore:
19 Let It Rock 2:20

Originally recorded with ElectroVoice RE10 microphones > Dolby
B, Maxell UD XLI (normal bias tape) > Sony TCD5 tape deck.
Transferred with Nakamichi Dragon tape deck > Macintosh with
DigiDesign AudioMedia III sound card > Pro Tools > AIFF. I
added just enough extra digital EQ to pull the vocals out of the
mud.
